(TJ) Fortunately after that interesting train ride that Michelle just explained, things went pretty smooth getting to our hostel downtown. We were only planning on staying in Athens until we could book something to one of Greek isles. Since we were only there for a couple of days we just went to the Acropolis and some of the other ruins nearby. The thing that is amazing about going to these ancient temples and ruins is that except for the Acropolis you can touch, jump, walk, do what ever to the ruins. I thought that these things would be roped off or protected, but they are just sitting out there in the open. I was pleasantly surprised by Athens, because I hear a lot of bad reviews on it. It may have been nicer because everyone who actually lives there was gone on vacation, but I thought it was ok.(Michelle) We also ate at a cute little café that had really nice food. Like TJ said, we had really low expectations, so Athens turned out to be ok.
