Yes, my brother likes to joke that we are hitting all the “Risk” hotspots. When my brother and I used to play Risk, I recall fortifying my position in Irkutsk many times. We thought about couchsurfing again here in Irkutsk, but we found out from Dennis that there had only been one couchsurfing host in Irkutsk and she was charging people money to stay with her, which is against the rules, so she got kicked off of couchsurfing. We followed Bill and Liz to their hostel to see if we could get a room. It was a small hostel (Admiral Hostel), more of an apartment really. It had 2 private rooms, one 6 person dorm room, one bathroom for all and a kitchen. There was nobody working there, we just had the phone number for the owner if we needed anything. Fortunately the other of the 2 private rooms was available, so we took it. It had a tv in it (just local stations), but we got a kick out of watching some Russian TV shows. We watched a variety talent show, where we saw a number of extremely unusual talents. Our favorite one was a women dressed in German clothes trying to make a pig do tricks. We were laughing so hard we called Bill and Liz in to see it.
(TJ) Risk is a fun game.
